The Cure Tickets

The Cure is one of the British bands that revolutionized the rock genre in Europe in the eighties. With thirteen studio albums behind them, the work of the band formed at Crawley in 1976 has always been recognized by critics for its decisive contribution to the consolidation of alternative rock. All this without forgetting his forays into electronic music, his recognizable gloomy or gothic aesthetic and the philosophical allusions of some of his lyrics.

The group's professional activity started in 1978 but their first album, Three Imaginary Boys, would arrive the following year. Stability would never be a characteristic of the band, whose members varied with great regularity until in the mid-eighties it was possible to consolidate what would be the most famous formation of the group. He also varied his style, coming to flirt with pop to return to his particular vision of rock. In 1989, the publication of the band's eighth work, Disintegration, marks its moment of greatest splendor, starring in important world tours.

The only member of The Cure who has remained with the group since its inception is vocalist and guitarist Robert Smith. One of the greatest accolades the group has received is the 1991 Brit Award for Best British Band.

In 2019 the band entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, establishing themselves as one of the most influential groups in rock history. The gala took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn (New York) and was hosted by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. Robert Smith and company took the opportunity to interpret some of the greatest hits of their more than 40 years of experience; songs like Shake Dog Shake, A Forest, Lovesong, Just Like Heaven and Boys Don’t Cry sounded.

The last time The Cure performed in Spain was at the Mad Cool Festival, on July 13, 2019 in Madrid. Their last tour of large venues was in November 2016 and took them to perform at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, the BEC in Bilbao and the Wizink Center in Madrid. In 2022 they will return to Spain with only two concerts: November 10 and 11 in Barcelona and Madrid.
