OVO by Cirque du Soleil arrives in Spain in 2023

OVO by Cirque du Soleil returns to our country this year to display its entire show in San Sebastián/Donostia, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Granada.

OVO is a production full of energy and stunts. It is an exciting Cirque du Soleil experience, with a colorful immersion into a new day in the life of insects; an unstoppable burst of energy and movement. OVO explores the beauty of biodiversity in all its forms and contrasts through an acrobatic show that highlights the personality and unique abilities of certain insect species.

"For Cirque du Soleil it is always a joy to return to Spain, and especially in 2023 to celebrate our 25 years of touring with our audience," says Mike Newquist, president of the company's Touring Shows Division. “San Sebastián, Las Palmas, Granada and Gijón are cities where the public has welcomed us with great affection since we came for the first time in 2007, 2014, 2010 and 2004 respectively. Since then they have enjoyed the shows we have put on to date.

From mighty crickets jumping on trampolines to a mesmerizing spider writhing inside its web, OVO puts on an extraordinary spectacle that sparks the imagination. Fun and chaotic, yet adorable and wonderful, OVO wins over our inner child with its sweet exuberance. Comprised of 100 people from 25 different countries, including 52 artists, OVO (“egg” in Portuguese) brings high-level acrobatic acts to the stage that redefine the limits of the human body. Since its inauguration in Montreal in 2009, OVO has touched more than 7 million people in 155 cities in 26 different countries.
