Black Coffee is a reference in the electronic world. You may not remember that it was at the Red Bull Music Academy that he rose to fame. Here, he was one of only two South African entrants. His talent as a DJ made him quickly establish himself as an international star. In fact, in 2015 he was the winner of the "Breakthrough DJ of the Year". Who is behind Black Coffee?

His name is Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, a South African born in 1976 who has a long career in music. He has studied jazz, participated in pop-African groups and made all kinds of first steps. However, it is the clubbing and electronic environment where he has finally managed to take off. And he has dragged a career of almost 20 years of total success.

In 2022 Black Coffee has been awarded the 'Best Dance/Electronic Music Album' at the GRAMMY Awards, with their album Subconsciously.
