És segur dir que signar un contracte discogràfic i repartir en un programa de televisió simultàniament no és una manera típica per a una banda de començar.

L'any 2009, Big Time Rush va canviar la història de la banda de nois quan el seu programa de televisió del mateix nom va començar a emetre's a Nickelodeon. A través de Nick Records, el grup va llançar el seu àlbum debut, BTR, el 2010, promocionant molts dels senzills de l'àlbum durant la primera temporada del programa. La carrera musical i televisiva de Big Time Rush continuaria en aquesta relació simbiòtica fins al 2013, quan després de quatre temporades a Nickelodeon, tres àlbums, múltiples gires i un llargmetratge, el programa de televisió Big Time Rush va arribar a la seva fi. El grup va continuar de gira fins a principis del 2014, abans d'acceptar una pausa, permetent als quatre membres explorar carreres en solitari.

No va ser fins al 2021 que Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos PenaVega i Logan Henderson es van reunir per a nous espectacles en directe, amb el seu senzill de tornada 'Call It Like I See It', que va arribar al desembre d'aquell any. Al llarg del 2022, el grup va llançar diversos senzills sense àlbum i va fer la seva gira Forever pels Estats Units i Amèrica del Sud. El febrer de 2023, Big Time Rushed va llançar 'Can't Get Enough', el senzill principal del seu nou àlbum d'estudi Another Life, que va arribar aquell juny. Juntament amb el llançament de l'àlbum, el grup va anunciar la gira Can't Get Enough.

El febrer de 2025, la banda va anunciar la gira BIG TIME RUSH – IN REAL LIFE WORLDWIDE.
