Palau Sant Jordi is an avant-garde multi-purpose pavilion located on Passeig Olímpic, at the foot of the Montjuic mountain. It was designed by the architect Arata Isozaki for the Olympic Games of Barcelona 92 ??and inaugurated in 1996. Palau de Sant Jordi consists of a main hall and three annexes: Club Montjuic, Club Gaudí and Club Isozaki. It has a maximum capacity up to 17,960 people and is fully adapted for people with reduced mobility: properly signposted parking spaces, wheelchair accessible spaces, bathrooms and adapted access areas.
Since its inauguration, the Palau Sant Jordi has hosted important musical performances with artists such as Bruce Springsteen, U2, Elton John, Shakira, Lady Gaga, Madonna or Alejandro Sanz. It has also hosted elite sporting championships such as the Eurobasket 1997 final, two Davis Cup finals and more recently a friendly NBA and World Cup basketball game in 2014.
