Auditorio Nacional de la Música

The Auditorio Nacional de Música is an organism dependent on the Instituto Nacional de las Artes Escénicas y de la Música (Ministry of Culture). Work of the architect José Mª García de Paredes -it was opened on the 21 October 1988 and its construction was programmed within the Plan Nacional de Auditorios-, it is used to provide the country with a suitable musical infrastructure.
The ANM undertakes important work in the world of music, placing its facilities at the disposition of people and entities, public or private, for the realisation of musical activities. Its two concert halls, symphonic and chamber, with a capacity of 2,324 and 692 seats, respectively, enable as many as four concerts to be held each day, in afternoon and evening sessions.
The Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España has its headquarters in the ANM.
The Auditorio is also the home of the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España.

The Auditorio Nacional The Auditorio Nacional aims to be a lively and open place, for meeting and dialogue between music and the people that make it (audience, creators, players, researchers, luthiers...). Within this spirit is formed its artistic project, which covers a wide-ranging and rich programme with all kinds of manifestations of universal musical culture, and in particular Spanish culture, as well as its relationship with diverse disciplines such as plastic arts, visual arts, architecture, science, society,

nature, literature, philosophy, technology, gastronomy, etc. All this is carried out on the basis of cycles of concerts, stage performances, competitions, exhibitions, conferences, commissions to creators, publications, master classes and educational workshops, whether with a central theme or of a varied nature, though the presence of well-known artists or young talents, in residence or as guests for the occasion, with music by composers from all period and styles, with traditional or latest generation instruments, with the varied uses of the different spaces in the building inside and outside, through live or recorded and broadcast performances, whether on radio, television or internet, with the presence of figures from the world of culture and society..., without ever losing sight of its vocation to serve all society, from children to the elderly, eliminating all barriers to access.
